If we choose a destination that you currently don't operate, can you customize an Amazing Race for us?

Absolutely. We love exploring new sights and crafting new riddles in unknown destinations. A destinations we have currently developing for one of our long-time clients is Himeji, about 60 Km South of Osaka (Japan). We also custom developed an Amazing Race in Bogor, about 80 km from Jakarta (Indonesia).

Destinations we never run an amazing race are a bit more expensive, since our team has to travel there well in advance of the event to do research and write riddle and clues.

MORE GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT AMAZING RACE TEAM BUILDING EVENTS

What are Amazing Race team building Events?

Amazing Race team-building events are inspired by the popular reality TV show "The Amazing Race." In these events, participants are divided into teams and are required to complete a series of challenges and tasks in a race-like format. The primary goal of these events is to promote teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration among participants.

Here's how Amazing Race team-building events typically work:

These events can be customized to fit the needs and objectives of the group. They are commonly used for corporate team-building, leadership development, and group bonding activities. Amazing Race team-building events can take place in the hotel property, but more often outdoors, and the challenges can be tailored to the available space and resources.

One activity among many in the Bangkok Amazing Race is "Muay Thai boxing"

It's important to find the right balance between physical and mental activities. This "Muay Thai" boxing activity was just one activity among many in the Bangkok Amazing Race.

Do you use any technology for your team building events?

Depending on the client's request, we may run low-tech treasure hunts, whereby instructions are delivered to the teams in booklet form, but more often, we use mobile phones. Participants use their own mobile phones, create groups to share videos and clues among their team members and by using technology, participants work more effectively with each other.

Using phones as a means of communicaiton during an Amazing Race have become more popular in recent years.

What is the ideal group size for your events?

The ideal group size for an amazing race is between 20 and 100 participants. Should your group consist of be more than 100 people, we will use other technology by a partner firm.

How many people should one group consist of?

Ten years ago, groups typically consisted of 10 participants per team. However, in recent years the trend is to make smaller teams. Smaller teams are a bit more expensive, but the level of engagement is higher. The smallest teams we ever had were 3 people, but the average size of a team should be five to eight.

The Group size depends on the nautre of the event. For an Amazing Race, three is the minimum size of a team but more commonly, participants are split into teams of 5 to 8.

What is your debriefing like?

Depending on the client's request, we run events whereby the debriefing is a very important event where learning takes place. For example, we give each individual player a task, this could be to observe a specific person closely, to take notes about outstanding behaviour, or to analyze decision making processes.

Participants come well prepared into the debriefing session, which is usually scheduled towards the end of the race.

The facilitator or coach can then launch an in-debt discussion whereby participants contribute actively, come up with new ideas and insights, and wrap up the sessions with positive notes and learning points to bring back to the work environment.

We also do debriefing picture and video slide shows, whereby our team collects all videos and photos shot by the teams during the day, and this frequently results in laughter and amazement.

A debriefing can be done formal or informal. Typically it is conducted informal inside the ballroom or outdoors after teams have returned from the Amazing race. During an informal debriefing particiapnts are sitting on the floor and share important insights and observations from the activitiy. The debriefing serves the prupose to reflect upon the team's performance and find ways of improving team cohesiveness.
